There were indeed a lot of people wondering what the judges were thinking — but perhaps not as many who were wondering what Randy himself was saying Wednesday. Mariah Carey completed the love fest.
Johnson is over-the-top in every respect, and how she was portrayed over the first two months was designed to make her seem like a lovable loon rather than a serious singer. That changed on Wednesday -- sort of. Arthur had to survive a surprisingly average performance to win the last spot, while Juliana Chahayed has to be cursing the fates that had her singing this week instead of last week. Melinda Ademi was also good enough to advance on a different day, but not amongst this group.
Based on their performances since January, Arthur and Glover are both stronger candidates to win than Johnson. But based on how much the judges seem to love her, Johnson could last a lot longer than people think. The other two…kind of behaving as expected. Is it too much to hope that a producer from Idol actually reads the many comments that their viewers are taking valuable time to make here. Absolute joke. Never watching American Idol again. Watching Hannity as i Type this at p.
Watched AI for years, not wasting any more time. I am apauled to see Zonetta still there. The judges let go some really good singers. Judges please get it toghther. Other females should have been kept way before Zoanette, also…. American Idol needs to rethink their judges as well as the layout of the show! Nicki minaj needs to go!
She loud and over powering the other judges! Keith, Randy, are great, but they needs to be more vocal and be able to stand up to Nicki and fight for the good people that are being sent home. Mariah seems to be settling down compared the start of american idol, which is too bad as she was the only one standing up to Nicki. She chose the perfect song for her voice and nailed it!
Why all the complain about the judges been partial? Zoanette Johnson clearly deserve her been among the top Keep it hot girl! I never thought she should have even made it through the initial audition and gone to hollywood, but I loved her performance of that song, and have no issue with her making it through on that song.
Loved it! However, she is very entertaining, which is why they kept her around. Remember that this is still a TV show, not just a singing competition. The only reason this makes me mad is because if they had cut her then her spot could have gone to someone who actually deserved. I am also outraged at the absurd decision to keep zoanette on idol. It makes me sick to think of the girl whose hopes and dream had to be the innocent victim of whatever nonsense is driving this b.
Many contestants had hardships in their past and many currently are struggling. Nikki made a comment about knowing what its like to flee from your country. Maybe idol has become complacent in their past success and popularity, but like many of you, I am so dissappointed.
Hopefully, when the voting begins there will be such a marked drop in numbers that they will have to make some changes before the season is over. Boring Boring Boring ……. This is all I can say about American Idol I think we can now all understand how important Simon Cowel was for the show!!!
Grade: A-. Grade: B-. Sigh…will grocery-store baggers never learn? Was the whole performance maybe just a tiny bit too sterile? Grade: B. Sure, the melody train derailed repeatedly once Zoanette settled into the regular English portion of the song, pounding out notes flatter than your average tortilla.
Maybe I just need to use an emoticon here to get my point across.
